Bopanna and Dabrowski won the opening set against Canadian Robert Farah and Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany before bowing out 6-1 2-6 8-10 in the super tie-breaker in a gruelling contest that lasted 58 minutes at Flushing Meadows. Seventh seeds Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova came out with a comprehensive 6-4, 7-5 victory to defeat American-Japanese pair of Nicole Gibbs and Nao Hibino and enter the women's doubles quarter-finals.
