The Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association has signed an agreement with former top-200 player Guillermo Alcaide to be a visiting coach for its development plans.
"We look forward to Guillermo introducing the latest training methods from the men’s tour," said the patron of CLTA, Rajan Kashyap.
The CLTA president, Jai Singh Gill, stated that "from being a nursery, we are looking to enhance our facilities and graduate towards promoting excellence in the sport."
Alcaide will visit Chandigarh 30 days in a year, but will continue to monitor the trainees for effective follow-up.
The arrangement is part of CLTA’s ongoing bond with Madrid Tennis Federation, in consultation with the Spanish adviser Javier Sansierra. There is also an exchange programme in place by which the CLTA trainees visit Spain, and the trainees from Spain visit Chandigarh.
