Divij Sharan and Scott Lipsky of the US bounced back from a poor start to beat the second seeds Ivan Dodig of Croatia and Marcel Granollers of Spain 0-6, 6-4, 10-5 in the doubles semifinals of the €660,375 European Open tennis tournament in Belgium on Friday.

Another doubles specialist Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, in partnership with Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia, outplayed Sumit Nagal and his Italian partner Riccardo Ghedin for the loss of one game in the semifinals of the $125,000 Challenger in China.

In Nigeria, top seed Prajnesh Gunneswaran was beaten in the semifinals 6-3, 7-6(4) by Johan Sebastien Tatlot of France. The Sood twins, Chandril and Lakshit, kept the Indian challenge alive by making the doubles semifinals.

In Malaysia, Arjun Kadhe made the doubles final with Lukas Ollert of Germany, while Karunuday Singh was beaten in the singles semifinals in Thailand.

Pranjala Yadlapalli was in robust form as she made the singles and doubles final of the $15,000 ITF women’s tournament in Colombo. Interestingly, Pranjala and Rutuja Bhosale, the two former Asian junior champions, combined for the doubles final entry.
