Top-ranked Indian tennis star Yuki Bhambri breezed into the second round of qualifying at the Dubai Open with a comfortable 6-2, 6-1 win over Ivan Dodig in 52 minutes.
Bhambri, who has an international ranking of 101, is seeded second in the qualifying draw, faces Germany's Yannick Maden in the next round.
The other Indian in the fray – Sumit Nagal – retired during his match against Blaz Kavcic. Nagal took the first set 6-2 but lost the second 2-6 and was trailing 0-4 in the third set when he decided to throw in the towel.
