Rafael Nadal dominated Dominic Thiem to advance to his 10th French Open final.
Thiem was made to stretch and slide so many times, but the Austrian could manage only seven games against Nadal.
Standing between Nadal and his tenth French Open crown will be Stan Wawrinka, who prevailed in a marathon five-setter against world No. 1 Andy Murray.
Despite leading 2-1, Murray lost a fourth set tie-breaker and 1-6 in the fifth to prolong his wait to become Britain's first men's champion in Paris since Fred Perry in 1935.
Nadal, who has dropped just 29 games so far, is unbeaten in French Open finals and is the favourite to add his 10th The Musketeers' Trophy.
