French Open 2019 Day 3: Halep, Osaka record tough wins; Zverev through

The last of the first-round matches in the men's and women's singles will be played on Tuesday, while the doubles opening round begins.

Hello and welcome to Sportstar's LIVE updates of Day 3 of the 2019 French Open. The last of the first-round matches of the men's and women's singles take place today, along with the round of 64 in the doubles.

Katerina Siniakova earns a hard-fought 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 over Czech Republic's Elena Rybakina and will face Maria Sakkari in the next round.

Greece's Maria Sakkari outclasses USA's Anna Tatishvili 6-0, 6-1.

Third seed Simona Halep comes back strongly in the final set after pegged back in the second set by Australian Ajla Tomljanović to win 6-2, 3-6, 6-1

Bosnian Damir Dzumhur goes down to France's Antonie Hoang 4-6, 6-0, 6-7(5-7), 3-6.

Poland's Iga Swiatek records straight set 6-3, 6-0 victory over France's Selena Janicijevic.

France's Lucas Pouille beats Italy's Simone Bolelli 6-3, 6-4, 7-5

Martin Kližan comes from two sets down to beat Mikhail Kukushkin 3-6, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-3.

French wild card Grégoire Barrère records only his second win on the ATP Tour. He upset Matthew Ebden 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, 6-1.

Fernando Verdasco advances with a 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-2 win over Dan Evans.

Madison Keys has it easy as she wins 6-1, 6-2 against Evgeniya Rodina.

Aleksandra Krunić advances to the second round after Daria Gavrilova retires while trailing 3-6, 2-2.

Lesia Tsurenko beats 2014 semifinalist Eugenie Bouchard 6-2, 6-2.

World No. 1 Naomi Osaka comes back from the brink to win her opener 0-6, 7-6 (4), 6-1! Anna Karolina Schmiedlova had served for the match twice in the second set, but the Japanese fought back like the champion she is.

Aryna Sabalenka, the 11th seed, beats Dominika Cibulková 7-5, 6-1 in the first round.

After losing the first set 0-6, US Open and Australian Open champion Naomi Osaka fought back from 4-5 and 5-6 down in the second as Anna Karolina Schmiedlova served for the match. The world No. 1 took the set 7-4 in the tiebreak.

Frenchman Lucas Pouille advances to the second round, defeating Simone Bolelli 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.

Karen Khachanov eases through with a 6-1, 6-1, 6-4 win over Cedrik-Marcel Stebe.

Jordan Thompson beats Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 6-2, 7-6 (3).

Anna Blinkova defeats Margarita Gasparyan 6-3, 4-6, 8-6.

Ivo Karlovic, all of 40 years old, wins his first-round match 7-6 (4), 7-5, 6-7 (7), 7-5 against Feliciano López, 37.

Magda Linette beats French world No. 166 Chloé Paquet 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Jelena Ostapenko is out! The 2017 French Open champion has not won a match at Roland Garros since winning the title two years ago. Victoria Azarenka takes a 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory on her third match point.

Fifth seed Alexander Zverev grinds out a 7-6 (4), 6-3, 2-6, 6-7 (5), 6-3 win over John Millman. In 2018, Zverev, seeded second then, required three five-setters to reach the quarterfinals, where he was hammered by eventual finalist Dominic Thiem.

Unheralded Czech Karolína Muchová pulls off a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 upset of Anett Kontaveit, the 17th seed.

Caroline Garcia, the top-seeded French player, advances to the second round with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Mona Barthel.

Roberto Bautista Agut beats Steve Johnson 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

Rising star Amanda Anisimova makes the French Open second round for the first time. The 17-year-old, who reached the fourth round of the Australian Open, beat Harmony Tan 6-3, 6-1.

Dušan Lajović records a regulation 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Thiago Monteiro.

Yoshihito Nishioka makes it to the second round with a 6-7 (7), 6-0, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over the big-serving Mackenzie McDonald.

Eighteen-year-old Bianca Andreescu is into the second round in her first main-draw appearance at Roland Garros with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 win over Marie Bouzková. The Canadian is having a breakout year, having become the first wild card to win Indian Wells, a WTA Premier Mandatory tournament.

Ninth seed Fabio Fognini of Italy defeats compatriot Andreas Seppi 6-3, 6-0, 3-6, 6-3.

Federico Delbonis overcomes Guillermo García-López 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Eighth seed Juan Martin del Potro is into the second round with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 win over Nicolas Jarry.

Mikael Ymer beats Blaž Rola 6-0, 6-3, 7-6 (5).

Twenty-year-old French qualifier Elliot Benchetrit dumps Brit Cameron Norrie out of the French Open with a 6-3, 6-0, 6-2 win.

Taylor Fritz wins his first-round match against Bernard Tomic 6-1, 6-4, 6-1.

Daria Kasatkina, seeded 21st, is through to the second round with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Jasmine Paolini.

Irina-Camelia Begu eases into round two, defeating Zhu Lin 6-1, 6-1.

Monica Puig overcomes Kristen Flipkens 6-1, 7-5.
