Rohan Bopanna in partnership with Marcin Matkowski of Poland was beaten 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 by fourth seeded Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands and Horia Tecau of Romania in the doubles final of the $2,617,160 ATP Tour tennis tournament in Dubai on Saturday.
It was the second final of the season for the 37-year-old Bopanna, ranked 24 in the world, after his triumph in the Chennai Open with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan.
The champion team collected $167,570 and 500 ATP points and the runner-up had to be content with $77,140 and 300 points.
Meanwhile, Ramkumar Ramanathan lost the doubles final in the ITF Futures in Orlando with Jaume Pla Malfeito of Spain. Sood twins, Chandril and Lakshit lost the doubles final in a similar event in Egypt.
