Prarthana Thombare in partnership with the Asian Games gold medallist Luksika Kumkhum of Thailand reached the doubles quarterfinals of the $125,000 Taipei Open WTA tennis tournament on Wednesday.

The Indo-Thai pair will play third seeds Monique Adamczak of Australia and Naomi Broady of Britain in the quarterfinals.

Ankita Raina reached the singles pre-quarterfinals with a three-set victory over qualifier Megumi Nishimoto of Japan in the $60,000 ITF women’s event in Japan.

Doubles (pre-quarterfinals): Luksika Kumkhum (Tha) & Prarthana Thombare bt Lizette Cabrera (Aus) & Fanny Stollar (Hun) 6-4, 7-5.

Singles (first round):
Ankita Raina bt Megumi Nishimoto (Jpn) 2-6, 6-1, 6-1.
