Ramkumar, Bhambri qualify for ATP 500 Citi Open

Seeded No. 1 and 2 in the qualifying draw, both Ramkumar and Bhambri had to win one round to make the main draw and ensure a minimum of 10 ATP points.

In the main draw, Yuki Bhambri will be up against Stefan Kozlov of the US in the first round.

Ramkumar Ramanathan and Yuki Bhambri jumped into the big league together as the duo won their respective matches to make it through to the qualifying phase of the ATP 500 Citi Open in Washington D.C.

Seeded No. 1 and 2 in the qualifying draw, both Ramkumar and Bhambri had to win one round to make the main draw and ensure a minimum of 10 ATP points.

Both did not drop a set in beating Marinko Matosevic of Australia and Liam Broady of Britain respectively.

In the main draw, Ramkumar will play Guido Pella of Argentina, while Bhambri will be up against Stefan Kozlov of the US.

More than the big purse and points, Ramkumar and Bhambri will have the chance to play Mischa Zverev of Germany and Gael Monfils of France, if they manage to sustain their good work and pull through the first round in a draw of 64.
