India's Yuki Bhambri went down in the third round of the Indian Wells Masters, losing to USA's Sam Querrey 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-4 in three hard fought sets on Wednesday.

In a match that lasted two hours and 22 minutes, the 25-year-old won 59% of total service points to Querrey's 67 and 33 % return points to his competitor's 41.

Earlier on Monday, the Indian Davis Cupper had registered the biggest win of his career having trumped world number 12 Lucas Pouille  6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 19 minutes.
