Paes, Raja crash out of Auckland ATP classic

From the brink of victory, Paes-Raja duo crashed out to Marcin Matkowski of Poland and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan in the doubles pre-quarterfinals.

Wild card entrants Leander Paes and Purav Raja had a tough outing in the $561,345 ASB Classic ATP Tour event in Auckland, as they stumbled at the brink of victory and were beaten 6-7(4), 7-6(8), 10-7 by Marcin Matkowski of Poland and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan in the
doubles pre-quarterfinals.

In the $50,000 Bangkok Challenger, Sasi Kumar Mukund went down fighting in three sets to seventh seed Yusuke Takahashi of Japan while qualifier Sidharth Rawat lost to local lad Wishaya
Trongcharoenchaikul.

In the ITF Futures in China, Manish Sureshkumar had a hard earned victory over Rhett Purcell of New Zealand in the first round, while qualifier Nitin Kumar Sinha bowed out,  in three sets.

Singles (first round): Yusuke Takahashi (Jpn) bt Sasi Kumar Mukund 6-2, 5-7, 6-0; Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul (Tha) bt Sidharth Rawat 7-6(3), 6-3.

$15,000 ITF men, Anning, China

Singles (first round): Goran Markovic (Srb) bt Nitin Kumar Sinha 7-5, 1-6, 6-3; Manish Sureshkumar bt Rhett Purcell (Nzl) 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(5).

Doubles (pre-quarterfinals): Tyler Lu (US) & Issei Okamura (Jpn) bt NIitn Kumar Sinha & Manish Sureshkumar 7-6(5), 6-3.
