Paes-Raja pair falls in St. Petersburg semifinals

Leander Paes and Purav Raja was beaten in the semifinals by top seeds Julio Peralta of Chile and Horacio Zeballos of Argentina 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 in the St. Petersburg Open.

It was the third tournament as a pair for Leander and Purav, who had made the second round of the US Open.

The semifinal entry was worth 90 ATP points and $15,450, for Leander and Purav who will next play the $731,680 Shenzhen Open in China. The Indian pair has drawn against the second seeds Alexander Peya of Austria and Rajeev Ram of the US in the first round.

In the $25,000 ITF women’s event in the US, Karman Kaur Thandi and Ana Veselinovic of Montenegro was beaten in the doubles final by Victoria Duval of the US and Alisa Kleybanova of Russia 2-6, 6-4, 10-8.
