Top ranked Indian tennis star Prajnesh Gunneswaran eased to a 6-3, 6-3 win over Japan's Go Soeda to advance to the semifinal of the Bangkok Challenger on Friday.

Prajnesh, the top seed, broke Soeda's serve in the seventh game to take a 4-3 lead and sealed the first set soon after, breaking serve once again in the ninth game.

The Indian held on to the momentum and broke Soeda for the third consecutive time to go 2-0 up in the second set. Prajnesh went on to belt out seven aces as he cruised to a comfortable straight sets win in little over an hour.

Prajnesh will next face Australia's James Duckworth in the semifinal on Saturday.
