Ramkumar storms into Newport ATP final

Defeats United States' Tim Smyczec 6-4, 7-5 in the semifinals.

India's Ramkumar Ramanathan stormed into his first ATP 250 final with a 6-4, 7-5 defeat of United States' Tim Smyczec at the Dell Technologies Hall of Fame Open at Newport, U.S.

Ramkumar, currently ranked 161, disposed of Smyczec, the World No. 123, in an hour and 31 minutes.

He will meet either U.S.'s Steve Johnson or Spain's Marcel Granollers in the final.
