Raonic ends coaching relationship with Moya

Former World No. 1 Moya, who won the 1998 French Open and the 2004 Davis Cup, joined Riccardo Piatti as part of Raonic's support staff in January.

Milos Raonic has ended his working relationship with coach Carlos Moya.

Former World No. 1 Moya, who won the 1998 French Open and the 2004 Davis Cup, joined Riccardo Piatti as part of Raonic's support staff in January. Through reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open and the final of Wimbledon, where he defeated Roger Federer in an epic final-four clash before succumbing to Andy Murray, the Canadian ended the year at a career-high third in the rankings.

Raonic has announced Moya will not remain in his coaching team for 2017, but thanked the Spaniard for helping take his game to new heights. "Thank you to Carlos Moya for helping me tremendously this year, alongside my team, to get the best out of me," the 25-year-old wrote in a post on Instagram.

"Under Carlos' direction and tutelage I have played my best yet to date. We will no longer be continuing our coaching relationship but remain close friends.I wish him all the best."

Seven-time Grand Slam winner John McEnroe took up an advisory role with Raonic for the grass-court season and, although they parted ways ahead of the U.S. Open, he again appeared in his corner at the ATP World Tour Finals.
