Rohan Bopanna loses doubles pre-quarters in Dubai

The Indo-French duo was beaten by the fourth-seeds Raven Klaasen of South Africa and Michael Venus of New Zealand 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.

Rohan Bopanna in partnership with Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France was beaten by the fourth-seeds Raven Klaasen of South Africa and Michael Venus of New Zealand 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 in the doubles pre-quarterfinals of the $3,057,135 Dubai Duty Free ATP tennis tournament on Wednesday.

After bouncing back in the second set, Bopanna and Edouard failed to retain the momentum in the super tie-break in which Klaasen and Venus ran up a 5-0 lead to eventually sail safely into the quarterfinals.

The Indo-French duo had to be content sharing $11,090.

Meanwhile, Leander Paes with Jamie Cerretani of the US and Divij Sharan in partnership with Yuichi Sugita of Japan were yet to play their first round doubles.
