Fourth seed Saketh Myneni sailed past Edan Leshem 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the $54,160 Challenger tennis tournament in Jerusalem, Israel, on Friday.
In the semifinals, Saketh will be challenged by Filip Peliwo of Canada, who was let off the hook by Sasi Kumar Mukund.
From the brink of victory, Mukund lost his way against the ninth seed, who prevailed, 6-7(2), 7-6(5), 6-2. Mukund, who had knocked out the second seed earlier, had to settle for 15 ATP points and $1,460.
In the ATP event in France, Leander Paes in partnership with Benoit Paire was beaten 6-3, 3-6, 10-8 by the Skupski brothers, Ken and Neal, in the doubles semifinals. The Indian pair had earlier received a walkover from the top seeds Raven Klaasen and Michael Venus as the latter was ill. The semifinal entry was worth 90 ATP points and €8,240.
