Sanam, Jeevan fail to enter main draw

The main draw of the $50,000 men’s Challenger tennis tournament in Guangzhou will feature Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni. Yuki has been seeded sixth and scheduled to play a qualifier in the first round, while Saketh will challenge the top seed Taro Daniel of Japan.

Sanam Singh went down to former top-100 player Jimmy Wang of Chinese Taipei in three sets in the second qualifying round of the $50,000 men’s Challenger tennis tournament in Guangzhou on Monday. The 28-year-old Sanam had earlier knocked out the top seed.

Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan was also unable to cross the second round of the qualifying event. The main draw will feature Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni. Yuki has been seeded sixth and scheduled to play a qualifier in the first round, while Saketh will challenge the top seed Taro Daniel of Japan. Yuki and Saketh will continue to play the doubles as a pair.
