Sumit Nagal reaches Savannah Challenger semifinal

A straight-sets victory over third seed Corentin Moutet booked Sumit Nagal's place in the last-four of the Savannah Challenger.

Davis Cupper Sumit Nagal stretched his fine run effortlessly as he made the semifinals of the Savannah Challenger with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over third seed Corentin Moutet of France.

In the semifinals, Sumit was scheduled to challenge the second seed Paolo Lorenzi of Italy.

In the ITF women’s event in Turkey, sixth seed Jennifer Luikham fought her way past Sapfo Sakellaridi of Greece 5-7, 7-6(2), 6-3 in a battle of wits that lasted three hours and 10 minutes, to set up a final against Indy De Vroome of the Netherlands.

In the doubles final, however, Jennifer seeded No.1 with Ramu Ueda of Japan was beaten 7-5, 5-7, 10-6 by fourth seeds Vanda Lukacs and Manca Pislak.

In the $25,000 ITF women’s event in Namangan, Rutuja Bhosale won the doubles title in partnership with Eudice Wong Chong of Hong Kong.

It was the tenth career doubles title for Rutuja, and the first of the season.

In the Challenger in Mexico, second seeds Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Purav Raja made the doubles semifinals without dropping a set.

In the ITF men’s Futures in Italy, Vijay Sundar Prashanth in partnership with Tuna Altuna of Turkey was beaten 3-6, 6-4, 10-0 in the doubles final by the top seeds Alexander Merino and Manuel Pena Lopez.
