Australia's Jordan Thomspson and India's Yuki Bhambri will head the field of players at the Chennai Open Challenger tournament that is set to begin on February 12th.
Thompson, who is ranked 94 in the world, will be the top seed while 111 ranked Bhambri will be second seed. The other Indians in the main draw include Saketh Myneni, Sumit Nagal and Prajnesh Gunneswaran.
"It's a home Challenger, so I'm likely to do well. Chennai deserves tennis and its good to have a Challenger, if not the ATP event," said Bhambri when contacted by Sportstar .
"There are a good bunch of foreign players and it's a great opportunity for the Indian players to perform," he added.
According to a TNTA release, four more Indian players will be awarded wild cards into the main draw. The doubles field is also expected to feature a few Indian players.
The qualifying rounds begin on February 10, while the singles final will be played on February 17.
