Sportstar ’s new digital version, sportstarlive.com , was launched at the Madras Cricket Club on Sunday. Indian tennis and cricket legends Ramanathan Krishnan and S. Venkatraghavan inaugurated the website formally amidst an ensemble of other eminent sportspersons including champion cueist Pankaj Advani, hockey national team captain Sardar Singh and the country’s top squash player Joshna Chinappa.

“We want to make a difference on how sports is being consumed,” said Ayon Sengupta, Editor, Sportstar. "Our readers have always been our strength and this website gives us the opportunity to attract new audience and offer our old readers more comprehensive content in a new attractive platform."

The official launch was followed by a panel discussion on “The challenges of being a professional sportsperson in India”. The discussion — of which Ramanathan Krishnan, Sardar and Joshna were the primary participants — was moderated by popular television anchor S. Radhakrishnan.
