India produced a fine display to overcome the Bahrain hurdle to enter the semifinals of the 21st Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship on Friday.
Led by Dushyant Singh, India beat Bahrain 25-22, 25-19, 26-28, 26-24 in a rather convincing manner to make the semis. The team will face Thailand, who stunned four-time champions China on August 28 at 7:30 pm IST.
Earlier, India lost to defending champion Iran in straight sets 25-20, 25-10, 25-19 at 21st Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship. Iran finished on top of Pool B, with India in second place.
In the campaign opener, India thumped three time winner Japan 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-23).
