India beats Japan in Asian men’s U20 Volleyball Championship 2022 opener

India, led by the performances of captain Dushyant Sing, Aman Kumar, Sameer Chaudhary and Sachin Dagar, outclassed Japan 3-1 in Bahrain on Tuesday.

India opened its Asian men’s U20 Volleyball campaign with a thumping win over three-time winner Japan in Riffa, Bahrain on Tuesday.

India, led by the performances of captain Dushyant Sing, Aman Kumar, Sameer Chaudhary and Sachin Dagar, outclassed the Japanese side 3-1  (19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-23).

It will face six-time winner Iran in its second Pool C match on Wednesday.

India was beaten 3-0 by Iran in the round of 16 in the previous edition which was also held in Riffa in 2018.

On Monday, India’s U18 men’s team beat South Korea to win bronze in the Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship held in Tehran.
