Indians claim five medals in Asian Wrestling Championship

Indian grapplers have gathered five medals, including a silver, in the Asian wrestling championship in Bangkok.

Indian grapplers have gathered five medals, including a silver, in the Asian wrestling championship in Bangkok.

With Gaurav Sharma bagging a bronze in 59kg category on Thursday, India's medals in Greco Roman went up to four. Gaurav defeated Eun Bin Kim of Korea 2-1 in the medal bout.

Hardeep, who was pinned by Asian Games gold medallist Mahdi Aliyari Feyzabadi of Iran in the 98kg final, settled for the silver. Harpreet Singh defeated his Uzbek rival Jonibek Otabekov 2-1 for an 80kg bronze. Naveen beat Sun He of China 6-4 for a 130kg bronze medal.

Anita, who had lost to Olympic champion Jong Sim Rim 4-7 in the semi-finals, trumped Nilufar Gadeeva of Uzbekistan by fall to secure a bronze medal in women's 63kg.
