Peter Thompson 19 September, 2016 09:29 IST Teenager Oceane Dodin claimed her maiden WTA title by beating Lauren Davis in her first final at the Coupe Banque Nationale on Sunday. Dodin had never won a WTA match before this week and the 19-year-old rounded off a dream tournament in Quebec City by seeing off American qualifier Davis 6-4, 6-3. Davis, playing only her second WTA final, was broken six times by the youngster from France to miss out on a first singles title after also losing a Citi Open showdown in July. It had all started so well for Davis, who raced into a 2-0 lead but lost four games in a row in a first set that swung one way and then the other before the world number 132 broke for a third time to go a set up. Dodin was in control at 3-0 in the second, but made hard work of sealing a victory, which came when she won her third match point to put the icing on the cake at the end of a week in which she has exceeded expectations.
