India goes down to Germany

India lost 2-1 to Germany a Group B league match.

Prithvi Sekhar won his singles but lost a close doubles with D. H. Prashanth as Germany beat India 2-1 in a group-B league match of the Deaf World Tennis championship in Antalya, Turkey, on Saturday.

India has been clubbed with Britain, Austria and Hungary in the group. The top two teams will progress to the knockout phase. The other group has France, Russia, Ecuador, Japan and host Turkey.

The Indian women find themselves with Britain, Russia and France.

The other group has Chinese Taipei, Germany, Japan and Turkey.

The results (league): Germany bt India 2-1 (Urs Breitenberger bt D. H. Prashanth 6-0, 6-1, Sebastian Schaffer lost to Prithvi Sekhar 2-6, 2-6, Hans Toedter & Urs Breitenberger bt Prithvi Sekhar & DH Prashanth 6-3, 7-5).
