Viswanathan Anand was involved in his fourth successive draw following a 43-move deadlock with Frenchman Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in the fifth round of the Croatia Grand Chess Tour on Sunday.

The results (fifth round): Viswanathan Anand (2) drew with Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (Fra, 2.5); Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2) drew with Ian Nepomniachtchi (Rus, 4); Sergey Karjakin (Rus, 2.5) drew with Magnus Carlsen (Nor, 3); Fabiano Caruana (USA, 2.5) drew with Wesley So (USA, 3); Anish Giri (Ned, 1.5) lost to Ding Liren (Chn, 2.5); Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Aze, 2) drew with Levon Aronian (Arm, 2.5).
