The BCCI elections will be held in October.

The elections for the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) will be held on October 22, the Committee of Administrators decided on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court-appointed CoA which currently consists of chief Vinod Rai and members Diana Edulji and Lt General Ravi Thodge, decided that member associations that comply with the BCCI constitution will be eligible for the election process.

"The date has been finalised as of now. Of course, we will take a stock of things and decide accordingly later," a BCCI official told

The elections of the state associations need to be completed by September 14 and the names of representatives of state associations to BCCI are to be sent by September 23.

The appointment of the Electoral Officer will  be done by the BCCI and the electoral protocol will be prepared by the Electoral Officer in consultation with the BCCI. The process has to be communicated by June 30.

The apex council of the state associations will now have 19 members in place of nine as discussed with the Amicus Curiae.

"The Amicus was asked to hold mediations with the state associations as they had filed about 80 IAs in the court. The court told the amicus that you hold mediations with them and come back to us. The state associations have come forward and accepted all the recommendations and about 30-odd state associations have now been rendered compliant," CoA chief Rai said.
