The condition of Mumbai Indians bowler Jasprit Bumrah is not just monitored closely by the Mumbai Indians management but also by the innumerable cricket lovers across the country. One of the mainstays of the Indian pace attack, a certainty to feature in India's World Cup squad, suffered an injury in Mumbai's first match against Delhi Capitals earlier this week.
In the final over of Delhi's innings, Rishabh Pant hit the ball back to Bumrah, who dived to his left in his follow-through to stop it. Bumrah then clutched his left-shoulder after he dived to save the ball.
The pacer needed the help of the physio to laboriously walk back to the dugout.
On Tuesday, Bumrah joined Mumbai Indians' training session at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
He warmed up and took catches, but did not bowl in the nets. The 25-year-old was warmly greeted by RCB and India skipper Virat Kohli, after which he spent time talking to MI Director of Cricket Operations Zaheer Khan and others members of the contingent.
However, there is still no certainty over India’s international’s participation in Mumbai’s next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
“As we all know, Bumrah was out there yesterday warming up and took a few catches. He has recovered well today and looks fit,” a member from Mumbai Indians’ management told reporters at the Chinnaswamy stadium here.
“He will be assessed after today’s (training) session,” the official added.
Bumrah was seen bowling in the nets to the top-order batsmen for sometime without any discomfort.
