Kiran More was surprised the footages of the controversial comments weren’t edited appropriately before being aired.

Kiran More knows Hardik Pandya since his formative years, first as a childhood coach and then as a mentor.

According to him, Pandya’s indiscreet comments on a television show and its aftermath — a suspension and a BCCI inquiry on the matter — will be an important lesson for him.

“Everybody goes through this. Everybody learns from their mistakes. For me, he will always remain my student and we will be with him on both good and bad days,” More, a former India wicketkeeper-batsman and an erstwhile chief national selector, told

Sportstar .

‘Story ends’

“The lesson is learned. Whatever he has done is wrong, and he has been suspended by the BCCI. For me, the story ends there,” More said.

He plans to meet Pandya soon. “I will be meeting him and discuss [what happened]. There are lot of people around him [in the Indian team]. There is [M. S.] Dhoni, Virat [Kohli], Ravi Shastri… they all are good mates, they will all help him [overcome this phase]. It’s part of journey,” More said.

While he hopes that Hardik makes a “strong comeback,” More said: “I am sure even the BCCI will help in monitor things and [would guide them on] how to speak in public forums.”

But the former cricketer feels that Johar should have ensured that those ‘controversial’ footages were edited before airing the show ( Koffee With Karan ). “I am surprised that this happened. Someone like Karan Johar should have edited the part of the interview,” More said.
