Melbourne City arrives for Toyota Yaris La Liga World tourney

Melbourne City will play its first match on the tour on July 24, against the host Kerala Blasters.

The Melbourne City FC players were given a traditional welcome on their arrival.

The Melbourne City FC, which landed here on Thursday for the Toyota Yaris La Liga World pre-season football tournament starting at the Nehru Stadium on July 24, was given a warm welcome on its arrival in Kochi.

The Australian A-League club, led by Scott Jameison and which has Warren Joyce as the head coach, had a small training session here today.

Melbourne City will play host Kerala Blasters FC in the first fixture of the three-team tournament at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Tuesday. Spain’s La Liga club Girona FC will be arriving here early next week.

Games in the three-match tournament, which runs till July 28, will start at 7 p.m.
