Ozone FC coach David Booth said his wards would play like wounded lions against TRAU to avoid the wooden spoon.

Ozone FC and TRAU FC will play for pride in the final round match of the Hero I-League Second Division at the FSV Arena in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

After losing to Real Kashmir and being held by Hindustan F.C. in the previous rounds, Ozone FC will miss the league next season.

Even TRAU, tipped as favourites, bowed out of the tournament with an opening day defeat against Hindustan F.C. and a draw against Real Kashmir.

“It has been a really disappointing tournament and I think that’s the only way we can reflect on it because we came here to win. We gave our best performance against Hindustan F.C. and Real Kashmir but somehow results did not go our way. This is our last match and we have the chance to redeem ourselves.” TRAU coach Nandakumar Singh said.

Ozone FC coach David Booth said he is not oblivious about the task ahead, insisting that his wards would play like wounded lions against TRAU to avoid the wooden spoon.

“We have nothing to look forward to than a very good result in our last match tomorrow,” Booth said.

“Although we could not qualify to the I-League, we need to make sure we win the game, especially at home. It is also an opportunity for us to see how the boys would react to this difficult situation,”

“We shall keep on playing with the same manner and objective that we started this competition despite lack of success in our last two previous matches,” the Englishman added.

The match will kick off at 1:30 pm.
