Dabang Delhi was back with a bang in Season 3 of the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi with a 35-21 win over Bengaluru Bulls here today.

Delhi’s five-star raider Kashiling Adake led the onslaught with the upcoming Selvamani K who covered himself with glory with a super-raid early in the match.

Delhi with the first win in the very first match of the second leg has seven points whereas Bengaluru Bulls remain on 13 points in nine matches.

So dominating was the winner that it inflicted the first of the two all-outs in the 17th minute to go up 16-7 at the break. The win was achieved as a result of good team work.

This came despite its consistent raider Surjeet Narwal failing to score. Even Kashiling was unable to score till the 16th minute till he touched out Ashish Kumar. But all that was compensated by their defence.

Captain Ravinder Pahal, who was his usual self today, managed to affect two tackles to boost his confidence and of his teammate, the young Sandeep Dhull who had four. So tight was the Delhi defence that the ‘flying machine’ Surjeet Narwal was a pale shadow of himself. Nursing a knee injury he ended without a point.

The second half was a repeat of the first with the expected recovery failing to come from the loser.

Ravinder Pahal, known as the ‘hawk’, was seen pouncing more often to intimidate the Bengaluru attackers.

Pawan Kumar, who had built up a reputation for being a dangerous customer, was nullified by Pahal and so was substitute Deepak Dahiya who had some success towards the end making the scoreboard look respectable. So confident was the winners’ defence that midfielder Anil Kumar came up with brilliant tackles for a score of four points.

The second all-out in the 33rd minute with the score 28-14 in favour of Delhi decided the match.

The other match of the day between Patna Pirates and Puneri Paltan ended in a tie (28-28).
