Double delight for Mahak Jain

Top seed Mahak Jain was in fine form as she cruised into the singles final, and won the doubles title with Sathwika Sama in the $15,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Nairobi, Kenya, on Saturday.

Top seed Mahak Jain was in fine form as she cruised into the singles final, and won the doubles title with Sathwika Sama in the $15,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Nairobi, Kenya, on Saturday.

Mahak led 6-1, 4-0 when the third seeded Fiona Codino of France retired. In the final, Mahak will be challenged by Sada Nahimana of Burundi.

In the doubles final, Mahak and Sathwika beat compatriots and second seeds, Sravya Shivani and Snehal Mane in straight sets.

In the ITF men’s event in Jakarta, Aryan Goveas went down fighting in three sets in the semifinals against Ruan Roelofse of South Africa.

Doubles (final): Mahak Jain and Sathwika Sama bt Sravya Shivani Chilakalapudi and Snehal Mane 6-4, 6-2.
