Young archer hit by arrow, rushed to hospital

A young archer of the Sports Authority of India (Eastern) Centre here was injured by a stray arrow during a training session on Monday morning.

According to SAI regional director Manmeet Singh Goindi, the archer, 14-year-old Fazila Khatun from Birbhum district, was accidentally hit by an arrow but is now out of danger. “Strangely, she was around the target when the shooting was going on. She told the coach that she was trying to find a shade to avoid the sun and was hit by the arrow,” said Goindi.

“The arrow pierced through her right collar bone. She was immediately rushed to the hospital and is likely to be discharged on Tuesday. Her parents have been informed about the incident,” he added.
