Ajay Jayaram through to Dutch Open final

World No. 26 Ajay Jayaram of India cruised to the final of the Yonex Dutch Open with a 21-14, 21-15 win over Malaysia’s Goh Soon Huat on Saturday. The 28-year-old from Bangalore took just 40 minutes to dispatch Huat.

Ajay Jayaram, who is also the defending champion, will now face Estonia’s Raul Must in the final, who downed Commonwealth Games bronze medalist R. M. V. Gurusaidutt in the quarter-finals.

Jayaram, who reached the Korea Open final last month, had a hard-fought 21-19, 18-21, 21-14 win over Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin in the quarter-finals on Friday. The Indian, who is also the defending champion, will now face Estonia’s Raul Must in the final, who downed Commonwealth Games bronze medalist R. M. V. Gurusaidutt in the quarter-finals. 12th-seeded Must took just over and hour to beat Emit Hoist of Denmark 21-18, 17-21, 21—11 in the other semi-final.
