Kerala women enter final of national junior basketball

Kerala women scored a thrilling 68-66 victory over Karnataka in the semifinals of the 69th National junior basketball championship at the Guru Nanak Dev Stadium on Sunday.

Kerala led 35-26 at half-time, but Karnataka caught up in the third quarter with a 25-17 performance. However, the Kerala girls handled the last quarter with competence to prevail by two points.

They will play the winner of the match between Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh in the final.

In the men’s section, Rajasthan beat Delhi 107-84 after leading 53-35 at half-time.

Rajasthan will await the winner of the match between Punjab and Kerala.

The results (semifinals):

Men: Rajasthan 107 (Rajeev 38) bt Delhi 84 (Aditya 26).

Women: Kerala 68 (Sreekala 36, Ann Mary 11) bt Karnataka 66 (Grishma 18, Harshita 15).
