The organisers of the Abu Dhabi T10 league are optimistic about roping in former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh when the new season begins in November.

Confirming the development, Shaji ul Mulk, the chairman and founder of the T10 league, told Sportstar that they plan to sign up 16 former India cricketers this time around.

“Our focus is to get Yuvraj Singh on board. The talks are on, and we are confident of signing him up for the league,” Mulk, who was in the city on Friday, said.

Yuvraj, who played a key role in India’s 2011 World Cup win, retired from international cricket in June. That helped him feature in franchise-based leagues, and he featured in the Global T20 in Canada.

The chairman also revealed that they are in negotiation with some other ‘big names’ as well. “Last year, quite a few former India cricketers featured in the T10 League for the first time and we plan to retain most of them,” Mulk said.

In 2018, Zaheer Khan, RP Singh, S Badrinath, Munaf Patel, Praveen Kumar and Pravin Tambe featured for the first time in the league.

After hosting the first two editions of the league in Sharjah and Dubai, the league will now be held at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi from November 15 to 24.
