Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir recently hung up his boots.

Gautam Gambhir, along with sports technology firm Funngage.com, launched a cricket scholarship programme, FG PowerPlayer, here on Thursday.

Through this program, boys and girls in the age bracket of 12 to 24 years will get a fully paid five-year scholarship with a three-week of training camp in Perth, under the guidance of former South African Test Cricketer H. D. Ackerman.

Kolkata trials will begin from January 21 at Videocon Cricket Ground, adjacent to Dhaka International Bus Terminus.

Gambhir recently announced his retirement from all cricket, having played a starring role in India's 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup wins, under M. S. Dhoni's captaincy.
