England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to bat against Afghanistan in Manchester.

Team news: Eoin Morgan is fit and will lead England in today's match. Vince replaces Roy and Moeen is in for Plunkett. Three changes for Afghanistan, Dawlat, Najibullah and Mujeeb are playing - Aftab, Zazai and Hamid are not playing.

Pitch report: This is a used pitch, the same track on which India-Pakistan match was played. It is very dry, the grass colour is dry, there should be some turn on offer, but it's a great batting wicket, adds Michael Clarke.

Weather: "Finger crossed, we have good weather today," says Mike Atherton

Quotes:

Gulbadin Naib: We would have batted first as well, looks a good wicket, slightly Asian conditions. We are disappointed with our batting, have not even played 40 overs, we have a good chance to restrict them to a good defendable score.

Eoin Morgan: We will bat first. It's a used wicket, they have done magnificently well to prepare the pitch, looks like a good wicket, played well the other day, carry for the seamers and turn for the spinners.
