My World Cup Dream 11 to demolish all opposition, says Spandan

Spandan believes his selected set of players will 'sweep away whoever comes in the way'.

Waiting eagerly for India's World Cup 2019 campaign to start against South Africa on June 5, I have grabbed this opportunity from Sportstar to build my World Cup Dream 11.

I believe my side will sweep away whoever comes in the way. Selecting this team proved very difficult because I was forced to leave out many favourites, most notably Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh. However, I thought this one through and let my head and not heart take charge.

Here's my team

Matthew Hayden (Australia)

Sachin Tendulkar (India)

Virat Kohli (India)

Ricky Ponting © (Australia)

AB De Villiers  (South Africa)

MS Dhoni (WK) (India)

Jacques Kallis (South Africa)

Kagiso Rabada (South Africa)

Mitchell Starc (Australia)

Shane Warne (Australia)

Jasprit Bumrah (India)

12th Man: Graeme Swann (England)

Coach: Gary Kirsten

Given the pace firepower I have in my team, and Warne as the lone regular spinner, I decided to go with Ricky Ponting as captain. This too was a very difficult decision because my heart beats for Dhoni. Also, I am not too worried about the spin department because there isn't anything in the world of cricket that Sachin can't do.
