Rishabh Pant earns debut Test cap

The Delhi wicketkeeper batsman, on Saturday, became India's 291st Test player when he replaced Dinesh Karthik in the playing XI for the third Test at Trent Bridge.

The 20-year-old southpaw has 1744 first-class runs at an average of 54.50 including eight fifties and four hundreds.

Rishabh Pant, on Saturday, became India's 291st Test player. He replaced Dinesh Karthik in the playing XI for the third Test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Karthik had suffered an injury during the second Test but his form, too, has been a matter of concern for the side.

Pant, the Delhi wicketkeeper batsman, has made heads turn based on his exploits in the limited-overs version. He  has played four T20Is for India and showed his prowess with the bat during India A's tour of England where he scored 189 runs, at an average of 63 including three half-centuries.
