Ajinkya Rahane was back to steering the RPS's opening as he scored 46. However, he became one of Robin Uthappa's three stumping victims of the night as he was removed four runs short of his half-century.

Kuldeep Yadav removed M. S. Dhoni and Manoj Tiwary in the same over as Robin Uthappa successfully stumped both the batsmen during the RPS innings. By doing so, Kuldeep became the second bowler after Amit Mishra (against Rajasthan Royals in 2009) to have two batsmen stumped in the same over in the IPL.

As wickets feel, captain Steven Smith held his ground and scored a half-century, making sure RPS has set a target of 183 for the KKR. He scored 51 n.o. from 37 balls.

After successfully stumping three RPS batsmen, Robin Uthappa guided the KKR batting along with Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir and he were involved in a 158-run partnership for the second wicket. His all-round performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
