In his blitzkrieg, Vohra also gave a lesson on playing Afghani mystery spinner Rashid Khan by smacking him for 20 runs in the 16th over.

Indian Premier League, contrary to what a lot of purists will claim, is a major platform for local talent to come under the spotlight. And it was such a day for Kings XI Punjab’s Manan Vohra, who single-handedly took the battle to Sunrisers Hyderabad, when his established international colleagues crumbled like a pack of cards in a two-paced track at the Rajiv Gandhi international stadium in Hyderabad.

The 23-year-old scored 95 (9 x 4, 5 x 6) in 50 balls and took his team inches close to Sunrisers’ total of 159. He fell in the penultimate over to the eventual man-of-the-match Bhuvneshwar Kumar but his innings gave hope to Kings XI which lost Hashim Amla on the first ball of the innings to the same bowler. To put things into context, the second highest score by a Kings XI player was 13. He scored 14 boundaries which is the joint highest in IPL 10. In his blitzkrieg, Vohra also gave a lesson on playing Afghani mystery spinner Rashid Khan by smacking him for 20 runs in the 16th over.  Something for IPL's big-hitters to copy, maybe?
