Shubman Gill stole the limelight with a half-century against Kings XI Punjab.

Kolkata Knight Riders' Shubman Gill stole the show with a sublime half-century, his second in as many matches, as he took KKR to a position of strength against Kings XI Punjab during their Indian Premier League match at Mohali on Friday.

Gill, as clinical as he could get, smacked Ravichandran Ashwin for 18 runs in the 13th over, including two sixes and a four, to get to his half-century in just 36 balls.

As he was taking the bowlers to the cleaners in his home ground his father was seen dancing and enjoying his son's fireworks from the stands.

Playing as an opener for the second consecutive match, Gill accentuated the fact that playing him down the order wasn't a good choice.
