Umesh Yadav credits Kumble and Bangar for improved bowling

Kolkata Knight Riders pace ace Umesh Yadav said inputs from India head coach Anil Kumble and batting coach Sanjay Bangar helped him improve his bowling.
“In the last 10 months, our coaches Sanjay Bangar and Anil sir, who have a fair amount of idea about bowling, have helped me a lot. Sanjay sir had told me that when you run in to bowl, sometimes you run faster than required in order to bowl faster. Then you risk the chance of disturbing your line and length. You should enjoy you run up which will help you bring control to your bowling,” Umesh, who claimed four wickets on his return and played a crucial part in KKR's eight-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens on Thursday night.
Umesh said playing more matches also sharpened his bowling. “This is all due to my hard work. In the last 8-10 months I am playing continuously (for the Indian team). I have played 14 of the 15 matches. The more you bowl the better you become. Now I know my strong points and the areas I need to bowl at.”
On KKR's ploy to promote Sunil Narine as an opener, which swung the match in favour of the host, Umesh said, “The way Chris Lynn was batting (sic) and he was not there with us so we needed a batsman like him. He (Sunil) opened the batting in the Pakistan league (PSL). So, the team thought he can be used as an opener.”
KXIP pacer Ishant Sharma said batting became easier during KKR's innings. “When we were batting the ball was sticking a little to the pitch when you hit the length. Now (in second innings) with the dew coming, the ball was coming nicely onto the bat.”
Ishant admitted that KXIP was surprised to see Narine open the batting. “We were quite surprised. Maxi (Maxwell) told us in the CPL and Big Bash he opened the batting. We didn't know how he is going to bat,” said Ishant.
