Start of third day has been delayed by rain.

Persistent rain washed out play on the third day of the third Test between West Indies and India in St. Lucia on Thursday.

The scheduled start of the fourth day on Friday has now been brought forward to 0930 local time (1330 GMT), with 98 overs to be bowled.

Not a single ball could be bowled today as rain rendered the whole outfield soggy. Numerous muddy patches all along the boundary ropes deemed the field unfit for any play.

West Indies was trailing by 246 runs with 9 wickets remaining in the 1st innings after it reached 107 for one in 47 overs at the end of the second day.

Opener KC Brathwaite (53) and Darren Bravo (18) were at the crease at the draw of stumps.

India leads the four-match series 1-0, after winning the first Test in Antigua by an innings and 92 runs. The second Test in Jamaica was drawn.
