Australia celebrate a wicket against England

There was carnage at Adelaide Oval as England lost five wickets inside seven overs against Australia in the fourth one-day international.

While Australia eased to victory in the Ashes, the hosts have had little to celebrate in their ODI series against England, who hold an unassailable 3-0 lead.

But after in-form opener Jason Roy fell to Josh Hazlewood for a golden duck, the floodgates opened in dramatic fashion in Adelaide Friday.

The stunning collapse saw Alex Hales (3), Jonny Bairstow (0), Test captain Joe Root (0) and Jos Buttler (0) head back to the pavilion as Hazlewood wreaked havoc with three wickets, while fellow paceman Pat Cummins claimed two after Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first.

The nightmare start left skipper Eoin Morgan and Moeen Ali at the crease, with England fighting to avoid their lowest ODI score – 86 against Australia in 2001.

Zimbabwe hold the record for the lowest total (35) set in 2004 against Sri Lanka.
