Controlled explosion at Paris ahead of Euro clash

Isis has previously said they intend to attack the tournament. However, it is not yet known why the explosion occurred.

According to reports, French police has conducted a controlled explosion outside the Stade de France - less than four hours before the host's Euro 2016 semi-final clash against Iceland.

Fans have reported hearing a bang while arriving for this evening’s match at the Stade de France shortly before 5pm. Fans are currently being refused entry to the venue while investigations are on-going.

Isis has previously said they intend to attack the tournament.

Local media reports that an unattended car was exploded by police after they identified it as a suspicious vehicle. French police outside the Stade de France quickly insisted that there is "nothing to worry about", detailing that a small charge was used to open the door of a suspicious parked vehicle at 5:32pm local time.
