Paul Pogba admits that Kylian Mbappe has more talent than him after the 19-year-old's scintillating display in France's 4-3 World Cup win over Argentina.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward struck twice in a thrilling last-16 clash to send Les Bleus into the quarterfinals, becoming the first teenager to score more than once in a World Cup game since Pele in 1958.

His pace was a constant threat to Jorge Sampaoli's side throughout and a surging 70-yard burst in the first half resulted in a penalty, which was converted by Antoine Griezmann.

Pogba - who enjoyed a fine game of his own at the Kazan Arena - was in awe of Mbappe's display and believes the youngster's talent outweighs his own.

"Kylian has much more talent compared with me," he told TF1.

"Do you see what he does at his age? No, no I never had his talent.

Griezmann hails Mbappe

"He has so much speed. He's a forward, we can't compare with me. You know what to put in the newspaper tomorrow!"

Griezmann - whose penalty got France up and running - was also quick to hail Mbappe's contribution.

He said: "My penalty? I was fortunate. I want to congratulate Kylian for his great game.

"It's a good moment. We worked hard. We wanted to see a team united. We thought in the locker room that we had to defend well and for offensive work, we had the potential to score at any time."

When asked if he would rather face Uruguay or Portugal in the quarterfinals, Griezmann added: "It does not matter, but I have a preference for Uruguay because I have good friends there."
